Who are you?

Good question!

Work wise?

(I know, a wide variety! My marketing methods are adaptable, based on universal principles about buying behaviour and people being people.)

What makes yooou so special?

I understand why people are hesitant to talk to "yet another marketer", but I'm not like that.

An experienced, qualified journalist and marketing strategist and content writer/creator for all sorts of businesses - across education, wellbeing and health, neurodiversity services, finance, art, tourism, local news, content/marketing agencies, personal development, recreation and geeky fun.

A well-versed, articulate, thoughtful listener on all sort of topics - politics, therapy, poetry, art, social issues, psychology and how to thrive.

I'll pinpoint the real themes of what you say and do. I'll make epic connections between ideas.

A calming presence, telling you to stuff the noise and contradictions of everyone else, telling you to remember who you are.I'll genuinely care about you as a human and what you truly want.

Why do you make Pawsitive News?

The reasons I made it

The news focuses on death, doom and disaster... and I see people around me feel down, depressed and despairing as a result.

I was there myself. In January 2025 I "burnt down" my business. Stuff that worked before, wasn't working anymore. And when I looked to the news for direction, it didn't offer much hope. Rather than help people make informed decisions [ref], the news overwhelmingly takes over with shock and outrage and negativity.

Call me wide-eyed and idealistic, but I wanted to be a journalist since I was young and the more I studied literature, philosophy, journalism and marketing (on my own as well as for my BA, NCTJ & certifications) the more I thought about what the news is for.

I always thought the point of journalism is to see what's happening in the area/specialism/world, and find threads and interpretations based on collective evidence, and help the audience find a meaning.

Just the layout of news compounds to provide a picture. Deciding what makes the news in the first place is the most subjective decision of all [QUOTE WOODWARD?]

Find the RSPCA + you're too nice to be a journalist.

I thought to myself - okay it might not be making headlines, but there must be good things happening. Simply based on the evidence of human nature - we've always found a way through.

Victor Frankl - the only thing they can't take away is how you see/hope about a situation?
